At Olhar Poente, the nursery is much more than a childcare space: it is a place where secure, loving relationships are built — the foundation of a happy, healthy childhood.
We draw on the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches and on outdoor learning. We believe babies and toddlers are active, curious and naturally eager to learn, so we prepare calm, beautiful environments that follow their rhythms.

Through free, symbolic and exploratory play, children discover the world and develop motor, cognitive, emotional and social skills. We make room for creativity, expression and independence, indoors and outdoors, with natural and open-ended materials.

From what age can my baby join?
The nursery welcomes children from their first months up to 3 years old. We recommend pre-registering early, especially for the start of the school year.
Does the nursery cost anything?
Family contributions follow the rules in force in the Autonomous Region of the Azores and are set out in the internal regulations. We will be happy to talk through your particular situation.
How does settling in work?
Every child has their own pace. We agree a gradual settling-in period with each family, with parents present in the first days, so the child feels safe.
